Be Prepared For The Storm
Make sure your home is prepared and you have a plan for you and your loved ones in case of a storm . Visit www.pinellascounty.org/emergency for a detailed guide tailored specifically for local residents. Know your evacuation zone in incase you need to evacuate, or call (727) 453-3150 to find your zone by phone. If you need evacuation assistance be sure to register early, don't wait until a storm approaches, it may be too late to help you at that point.

During The Storm
Follow Pinellas counties guide about what you should be doing during a storm. Prepare your home for the storm and be prepared if you must evacuate. You should monitor the appropriate news channels in your local area for instructions as well as WSPF-TV (Broadcast 35 Cable 615/15/20) Find out how to get alerts from your cell phone when the power is out. Learn where sand bags will be available, generator safety tips and local radio stations that will broadcast city information.
Storm Recovery
After The Storm, It's Time To Assess The Damage - Keep your battery-operated radio close for news reports about damage, road closures, power outages and other emergency instructions. With three to seven days of uncertainty depending on the storm, you'll need to rely upon what you've stored for food, water, medications and entertainment. If the county is hit with a hurricane, it could be weeks or months before life gets back to normal.
